Detailed Description: Appleton Contender® EDSC Series 1-Pole 1-Gang Factory sealed tumbler switch has current rating of 20 Amps and voltage rating of 120 - 277 VAC. Feed-thru switch has malleable iron body and cover to offer enhanced durability. Switch has pre-drilled holes in bottom of bracket to offer direct mounting to control stations with existing cover bolts. Switch has nylon 6/6 handle with close-tolerance threaded stainless steel shaft to meet explosionproof requirements. Bracket is ideally designed to avoid costly field installation of tapping and drilling to fit circuit identification nameplate. The 1-Gang factory sealed front operated tumbler switch has 1/2-Inch hub with smooth, rounded integral bushing to protect conductor insulation.

Tumbler switch comes with internal ground screws to offer convenient installation. It is explosionproof and dust-ignition proof. It is provided with NEMA 3, 7CD, 9EFG enclosure. It allows for easy surface mounting with 1/2-Inch feed-thru hub and external mounting lugs on enclosure. It has smooth ground mating surfaces for flame-tight joint between cover and mounting enclosure. The stainless steel hex head cap screws attach cover to mounting enclosure. Tumbler switch can be installed in chemical plants, petrochemical plants, refineries and other process industries. It prevents arcing of enclosed switches in ignitable atmospheres during connect and disconnect operation of lighting and light power loads. It is suitable for use in classified areas where ignitable vapors, gases or highly combustible dusts are present. It is padlockable in ON/OFF position. It has ON/OFF legend marking for easy identification. It has horsepower rating of 1 hp at 120 VAC and 2 hp at 277 VAC. Tumbler switch is UL listed.
