Detailed Description:
3M QS-II inline splice kit are pre-molded 15 kilo-Volts class splices for splicing solid dielectric insulated shielded cables. It can accommodate ribbon, Unishield ® and wire shielded cables. Kit has 175 or 220 mil thick of insulation with copper and aluminum conductor size 4 to 2/0 AWG for stranded conductor and 2 to 1/0 AWG for solid conductor. Splice body is made of molded Rubber. It includes shield continuity assembly, shield clamp, two Cold Shrink end seals, mastic sealing strip, two tubes of silicone grease, solvent saturated cleaning pad and plastic glove. It also includes two Scotch 24 shielding tape strips, Scotch 13 semi-con tape roll and Scotch 35 vinyl tape roll.
Splice kit can be used with solid dielectric cables, cross-linked polyethylene and ethylene propylene rubber. It is used indoor, outdoor and direct buried applications. It is also used in vault, cable tray, junction boxes and ducts applications. It is used for cable rupture, dig-ins and cable reel ends. Kit meets IEEE standard 404-1993 for power cable joints.
